Waterproof plywood, the so-called boatbuilding plywood, is based on homogeneous or combined (deciduous and evergreen) hardwood plywood, covered with natural veneer (e.g. oak, beech, ash, maple or exotic species, e.g. American walnut) or modified veneer (over 70 patterns) on both sides. This plywood is characterized by high strength and water resistance. Natural veneer layers guarantee a uniform and natural appearance of the manufactured elements.
Waterproof boatbuilding plywood is produced on the basis of melamine resin for the application in humid conditions (according to PN-EN 636, EN 636-2 technical class) or on the basis of phenol-formaldehyde resin to be applied externally (according to PN-EN 636, EN 636-3 technical class) in E1 hygiene class.
Water-resistant plywood is used to construct the interior of the yacht as well as structural elements necessary for the proper fitting of yacht installations. Apart from composite materials, it is also the material for the construction of yacht bulkheads.
